Budding young authors and artists have been flocking to Eastnor Castle this week for the new "Tales and Scribbles" event, in the castle grounds.
Authors, Hannah Shaw and Mark Robertson entertained visitors with storytelling and illustration workshops, while Hereford-based Carnival Arts provided arts and crafts tuition.
As part of the Tales and Scribbles event, local primary schools were asked to enter a short story writing competition for children between the ages of 5 and 11 years.
Author Mark Robertson wrote the opening of the story, themed around the mythical Eastnor dragon and children then had to complete the story in 500 words or less. The competition was won by 7-year old Evangeline Graff from Eastnor Primary School, who wrote and illustrated her story entitled ‘The Day of Revenge’.
As part of the prize, Evangeline’s story has been produced as a hard-back book and was read aloud by one of the guest authors during the Tales and Scribbles event.
