NEARLY 200 soldiers will be patrolling the Brecon Beacons for 24-hour tactical warfare training over the next fortnight
Exercise ‘Braced Eagled’ – involving regular and reserve soldiers from the Mercian regiment – will see soldiers engage in offensive and defensive operations, including a four-day live firing exercise.
Lieutenant Jamie Russell, 1 Platoon Commander, A (Grenadier) Company, 2 MERCIAN said: “We consider Exercise Braced Eagle as our break in effort for Operation Fortify – the integration of Regular and Reserve forces. This is the main effort not just for us in The Mercian Regiment, but is a sign post for the future of the British Army.”
