KINGTON’S residents face a “historic challenge” for the future of number of their public buildings and spaces.
While negotiations are ongoing between Herefordshire County Council and Kington Town Council over the ownership of assets like the town’s museum, the Place de Marines and the public toilets, the town council is calling on residents to have their say.
A meeting at Lady Hawkins School next Thursday (October 2) will give people a chance to put forward their own views and ideas.
Town council spokesman Mary Tolhurst said: "This is a historic challenge for the town, but also an opportunity to save these public places for the community and the town’s future.
“This is an opportunity for people to discuss, question and give us their views on what they would like their town council to do about our public buildings.”
