A MAJOR challenge for farmers is to keep up-to-date with all the paperwork required by the regulatory bodies governing British agriculture, changes in legislation, and the increasing need to submit or download 'paperwork' electronically.

The Herefordshire Rural Hub is organising its fifth Rural Business Advice Day on Wednesday November 26, at the Three Counties Hotel, Belmont Road, Hereford. Entry is free and farmers can drop in any time between noon and 7.30pm

There will be help, advice and presentations on many aspects of farming and rural business.

Visitors will be able to get up to date advice on Cross Compliance, CAP Greening, and Ecological Focus Areas, and also on issues such as mud on the road, and what to do with footpaths going across your land.

There will be drop-in clinics for farmers to bring along their own NVZ records and Soil Protection Reviews, for checking, or help and advice on filling them in.

There are a number of presentations including an update on CAP reform and the new Basic Payment Scheme for Farmers given by a representative from the RPA.

If you have legal or financial questions about your rural business, or are looking for possible grant funding, or to start up a new enterprise, this is a chance to get your questions answered.

Herefordshire Rural Hub is grateful to Herefordshire Council and Herefordshire FSB for their sponsorship of the RBA Day 2014.
