QUITE literally putting a bow on the festivities in Hay-on-Wye this year, the team behind Hay Does Vintage have raised enough money to buy a huge bow-shaped display of Christmas light on the town’s Cheesemarket.
The vintage fayre returns for its Christmas edition on November 30, with more than 50 hand-picked vintage and retro traders taking over the town for ‘Wrap up in Vintage’.
Abi Jenkins – who runs the not-for-profit Hay Does Vintage with Jo Hodges – said: “We wanted to do something fun and frivolous and Christmas lights were the perfect choice.
“Plenty of our regular traders are returning as well as some new faces this year.
“We carefully select traders to ensure we have a great variety of genuine vintage and retro wares on offer with a little bit of something for everyone.”
There will also be vintage and retro homewares on offer at three town centre locations from 10am until 4pm, as well as jewellery, toys, linens, mid-century and painted furniture and 1920s and 30s memorabilia.
Kate Farmer of Farmer Fashion will also be organising a ‘strolling fashion show’ and the Travelling Tearoom will be serving cakes with a seasonal twist.
Entry costs £1, with children getting in free.
