A COUNTY college has been given top marks for the advice and guidance it offers its students.
Herefordshire and Ludlow College’s Learner Services department was awarded the grading by the Matrix Accreditation.
“The Matrix Standard is the unique quality framework for organisations to assess and measure their information, advice and guidance services,”
said Mandy Davis, the college’s head of learner services.
The inspection included interviews with more than 50 staff and learners across all three college sites; the Hereford campus on Folly Lane, Holme Lacy campus and Ludlow College.
The report noted the college offers “many options and choices” to students which were accessible through one-to-ones and group work sessions.
College principal Ian Peake said: “At a time when serious questions are being raised about the availability and quality of education, and careers advice in colleges, I am delighted that we have once again secured the matrix quality standard.
“This prestigious award is in recognition of the excellent work of my colleagues who provide outstanding guidance and support to young people and adults.”
