AN exciting 'creative ageing' event takes place at The Courtyard on Tuesday, July 14 when the venue presents More than a Matinee in collaboration with local dance company Dancefest.
More than a Matinee is a fun, creative and social event for those aged 55 and over, combining a dance workshop, lunch and a screening of the classic movie, An American in Paris.
Starting at 11am with the film, starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron, which is followed by lunch. Then, at 2pm, take part in a dance class based on moves from the film and watch a performance by some of Dancefest's Chance to Dance groups, their weekly classes for dancers aged 55 and and up. There is no need for any previous dance experience or a dance partner and the workshop is open to everyone.
