SIX wounded army veterans set off on their walk through Herefordshire this morning.
The Walk of Britain, by Prince Harry-backed charity Walking with the Wounded, started in Scotland in August.
The team was cheered on by residents as they set off from the Corn Square in Leominster at 9am this morning.
Town councillors also attended and local army cadets joined the group.
The six veterans are expected to arrive in Hereford's High Town at 4pm where there will be a small military band and cheerleaders. People are encouraged to attend and support the team as they arrive.
An evening dinner is being held in their honour by The Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire and The Chairman of Herefordshire Council.
They will set off tomorrow from Hereford Cathedral at 8.45am and walk along the A49 before turning off onto the A466 and through Wormelow and then Welsh Newton before entering Monmouthshire.
The walk will finish in London on November 1.
