AN OUTPATIENT clinic at Hereford County Hospital has opened after a £400,000 makeover.

The newly refurbished Fred Bulmer Unit welcomed its first patients this week to one of its nine rooms fitted with support facilities.

The new outpatient clinic area has been created by reconfiguring existing office space and clinic rooms.

Rachel Lowe, lead nurse manager at Wye Valley NHS Trust, said: “We are delighted with the newly refurbished outpatient clinic, funded by the trust, which provides high quality facilities for delivering patient care and treatment.

“We wish to thank patients and staff for the understanding whilst the works were underway and the temporary mobile unit was in place."

Whilst the refurbishment work was taking place a number of outpatient speciality clinics were re-located to a temporary mobile unit Arkwright Suite, which will shortly be removed.

The improvements form part of the trust’s five year strategy including a programme to rebuild, expand, invest in more beds and in the latest diagnostic and other facilities.
