A DAD of two who swore at police has been given a conditional discharge for 12 months.

Joseph Evans, of Lewis Smith Avenue, Hereford pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Commercial Street in Hereford at just before 2am on May 8.

Police officers on duty were told by door staff at The Kerry that Evans had been kicked out because he had started an argument inside the pub.

Evans, 27, started shouting and swearing at the police, who gave him a section 35 order to leave the area.

But he continued to swear at the officers and he was arrested.

Marilena Divitantonio, mitigating, said Evans was annoyed because the other person involved in the argument was not thrown out of the pub.

She said that, on reflection, he accepts he should have just gone home and apologised for his behaviour.

Magistrates gave Evans a conditional discharge for 12 months. He was ordered to pay £135 prosecution costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
