A PETITION with more than 2,500 signatures has been handed to Herefordshire Council by a woman concerned about road safety at a junction on the edge of Hereford.

Caroline Slough wants to see a reduced speed limit on the A49 just south of Hereford at Norton Brook Lane having been witness to accidents at the junction.

"This was set-up following a three-car collision on the A49 earlier in the year which I was witness to," she said.

"It's not the first time it has happened. It's a hidden lane.

"Those who have signed it have also seen that sort of thing.

"So I set-up the petition to show the council the problem at that junction.

"It's too small for two vehicles."

She says she is hoping Herefordshire Council will improve the visibility at the junction and is calling for the speed limit from the Grafton garage to the relief road roundabout to be reduced to 60mph.

The petition, which has 2,620 signatures, was handed to Herefordshire Council chairman, Cllr Brian Wilcox, who handed it on to Cllr Paul Rone, the cabinet member for Transport and Roads.
