COLLEGE students who started their own business making art packs to sell within primary schools have been recognised at an awards ceremony for their creativity.

Inky Links of Hereford College of Arts picked up the award for 'most creativity' at the Young Enterprise Company Final competition recently.

Students from Herefordshire schools and colleges attended the award ceremony, along with one of the founding members of the Beefy Boys Anthony Murphy who presented the creativity award.

He told guests at the event that he had been impressed by the dedication, innovation and determination of the students who had gone through setting up and running their own businesses and reaching the competition stage.

Jessica Bowen, MD of Inky Links, plans to take her project forward in the future after being inspired by the Young Enterprise scheme.

She said: "As a team, we have learnt so many new skills we can apply to future jobs and within the business, and know that if it wasn't for Young Enterprise, Inky Links would not be as successful as it is today.

"As managing director of the team, I will be taking on the business after our college course has finished and will be going out to schools across the country to provide them with our bespoke printing packs so all primary schools pupils can take part in a new activity and be introduced into art and design in a simple activity with professional outcomes."
