CROWDS of well wishers cheered as the lorries and wagons, dancers and performers paraded through Ledbury for the annual carnival, each organisation making huge efforts to dress their individual float on the theme of Heroes and Villains.
A brilliantly sunny day ensured that the ice creams vendors were doing a brisk trade as were the cafes, pubs and eateries of all descriptions.
There were stalls selling wonderful items, stands and charity events, and St Katherine's car park had rides and bouncy castles.
The mayor, carnival princess and her attendants were busy as was Bill the Bell Turberfield, town crier who led the parade and the entertainment on stages and in clubs went on until the small hours.
