CONCERNS have been raised about parking problems for a town’s weekly market after travellers arrived in one of its central car parks.

Etnam Street car park in Leominster has been the home of travellers since Sunday leading to parking fears about Friday’s market.

Local resident David Rose said: “Travellers have taken over the car park including disabled bays.

"Rubbish is now starting to build up and wires are running across the car park from generators to caravans.

"They’ve been told to move on, but I notice a new van has arrived since yesterday.

"The issue a lot of people are simply going to turn around and go home if they see this ‘occupation’ of their regular car park.

“Where is everybody going to park on Friday? there is going to be consequences.”

Herefordshire Council own the car park, their spokesman said: “We are aware of the concerns raised by Leominster residents and are taking steps to recover the land.”
