POLICE are appealing for information after a teenager was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after being hit by a car.

A silver Mitsubishi Shogun was travelling in the direction of Ledbury along Bath Street on Sunday morning at 12.15am when it hit a 19-year-old, who was on the carriageway at the time.

He suffered head, chest and leg injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

The driver of the vehicle, a woman in her 70s, was uninjured in the collision.

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who saw the incident or the pedestrian prior to the collision, possibly earlier on the Saturday evening.

The man is described as wearing a black hooded top, grey T-shirt, blue jeans and brown shoes.

Witnesses should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 15s of September 25, or you can ask for PC 3302 Darren Collett or PS 2525 Andy Wortley of Hereford Operational Policing Unit.
