I fully support the moves to have the river Wye watershed designated as bathing water if it means that all statutory bodies, who are currently failing to protect the Wye and its tributaries from domestic and agricultural pollution, will be forced to carry out their duties.
In carrying out their statutory duties, NRW in Wales and EA in England will have to address pollution of the river and, prosecute those who are currently damaging the ecosystem with impunity, to the fullest extent of the law.
If the legal limits are failing to protect the river then the relevant laws must be amended. There is no time to waste!
