A HEREFORD teenager who was "full of life" will now be remembered forever after a plaque has been unveiled in her memory.

Fran Lewis was just 19 when she died of a brain injury in June.

Known as Fran, the dance-loving teen was described by her family as a spontaneous person who loved people and what life provided.

After her death at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, Fran's mother, Vee asked if her daughter's hair could be donated to the Little Princess Trust (LPT).

The hospital therefore got in contact with the Hereford-based charity; whom Fran first donated hair to when she was aged 12.

Thanks to her donations, and money raised at her funeral, a total of of £7,000 has been raised for the LPT. And now there is a plaque at the charity's headquarters in Berrington Street so that Fran can be remembered.

“It was a real privilege to welcome Fran’s family and friends to our home and show them how much Fran helped The Little Princess Trust,” said Phil Brace, chief executive of the LPT.

“Together with Fran’s family, we felt that her long-term commitment to the charity and the large amount raised in her memory required special recognition.

“This new plaque will act as a permanent reminder of Fran’s kind and considerate personality and her incredible support for children and young people with cancer.”
