A DRINK-DRIVER has been banned from the roads after he was caught out on a busy main Hereford road.

Alan Knowles entered guilty pleas to one count of driving while over the alcohol limit and one count of using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third-party insurance when he appeared before magistrates this month.

The court heard that the 63-year-old had been caught out after getting behind the wheel of a Alfa Romeo in Hereford's Belmont Road while over the drink-driving limit on February 17, 2023.

An evidential breath test revealed that he had 55 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.

He was also found to have been driving the car without a valid insurance policy in place, magistrates in Hereford were told.
