TEN members and supporters of Knighton Ladies Hockey Club have raised about £1,500 by doing the Three Peaks Challenge. They left Knighton early in the morning driven by Martin Neary and Clive Brick to start their first climb to the top of Pen-y-Fan in the Brecon Beacons and after coming back down again the older group were driven to the base of Cadair Idris before climbing to the top and down again the ladies then went on to Snowdon and climbed to the top where they celebrated their success with a champagne shower. They had started at Pen-y-fan at 5am and finished at Snowdon at 9.30pm. It was roughly 25 miles walking and the vehicles transporting them covered 300 miles from start to finish. The money will be divided between Knighton Ladies Hockey club, Knighton Sports Association, the Air Ambulance and the Teenage Cancer Trust. Tilly Neary was the youngest at 13 years old and is one of very few to complete the three peak challenge at her age. Club member Heather Brick thanked everyone who sponsored and supported them including their drivers on the day.
