FRIENDS and helpers rang a peal on July 22 to celebrate the completion of the work on the Woolhope bells.
A peal requires both physical endurance and mental concentration by ringing a total of 5040 changes without stopping.
Organisers were pleased to say that the newly hung bells also stood up to the prolonged ringing!
The pre-arranged "tune" or method (Grandsire Doubles in this case) was called by conductor Nicky Aubrey and depending on the speed at which it is rung, a Peal usually lasts about two hours 45 minutes.
You can see the dedication and photo which has been published on the Ringing World Bellboard website bb.ringingworld.co.uk/view.php?id=1017990
The peal was the first on the bells since they were rehung and special thanks go to Roger Moss and Mike Pudge who helped with the refurbishment.
