Herefordians proud of their city might like to dip into www.herefordinbloom.co.uk for a view of the city through the seasons in a series of photographs by Geof Tarring which show Hereford looking at its very best. Also on the site is a link to the 2015 Portfolio showing all the projects shown to the Britain in Bloom judges last year plus an album of photographs from their tour of the city meeting many of the people who make a difference. The Bloom volunteers are again preparing to welcome the Britain in Bloom judges to the city on Friday, July 15 and hopefully the community will have done enough to retain its Gold status.
The flower beds are planted but there are still areas and open spaces no longer cared for by Herefordshire Council. If there is one near your home why not gather a few neighbours together and give it some TLC. The judges hate litter so if you see any in your street help us win Gold and pick it up.
Hereford is blessed with some great community action groups taking responsibility for public open spaces in their neighbourhoods as well as others setting up new and innovative projects to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors alike. The judges will be meeting many of them on the 15th. But everyone can help impress the judges. A quick look at the Bloom website explains why winning Gold is so important to the well- being of our city.
