British musician Tinie Tempah’s new property tv show, Extra Ordinary Extensions, will air on Channel 4.
The musician revealed to Press Association that he has a strong interest in architecture and design.
The first episode airs tomorrow, Wednesday October 19, and focuses on Alan and Linda who are hoping to build a ski slope extension attached to a 17th century farmhouse in Herefordshire.
The first episode will also focus on Amy and Simon as they form a million-pound glass structure by the sea in Hampshire.
Tempah helps participants in the show as they endure the highs and lows that come with renovation.
The show is in 4 weekly instalments and will introduce viewers to Brits, all trying to create different homes that are their dream.
Why Extraordinary Extensions?
Talking about his desire to be part of this project, Tempah told Press Association: “Growing up in a very working-class family, property was a way that we were able to move up the socio-economic ladder. I came out of a council estate environment and, at 12, my parents bought our first property in Plumstead. Fast forward a couple of years, and they’ve got more than a handful. I grew up seeing my mum do loads of extensions.
“At the start of the pandemic, the music industry got hit really, really hard. Obviously, there were no gigs. I was in the studio at home, scratching my head. I got this phone call, ‘We’re doing this property show, and we would love you to do it’. At first, I was like, ‘I don’t know…’ But I’m at the age now where I want to communicate other sides of myself.”
Extraordinary Extensions starts on Channel 4 at 9pm on Wednesday, October 20.
