Talented martial artist Dali Hopkins is grappling for success on three fronts

The 10-year-old daughter of the former Sinkums Football Club chief, Barry Hopkins, is shining in karate, Jiu Jitsu and kickboxing.

And the Our Lady’s Primary School pupil’s success has been recognised by thePoint4.

Dali competed in Hereford’s ECKA a tournament this year, taking a double silver.

She is an English champion, Hereford champion and Bristol champion at under-43kg girls in Brazilian jiu jitsu.

She came close at the British championships, stepping up an age and weight and losing in the final to take silver.

Dali also became a shodan ho black belt in May which made her the youngest black belt at her club.

“Dali is over the moon after being offered a sponsorship deal for a free membership at thePoint4,” said dad, Barry, who is no longer involved with Sinkums.

“This is such a great opportunity for Dali to grow and improve her training at such a high standard gym.

“ThePoint4 policy states that no persons under 16 are to use their facilities but they have made an exception to Dali using the gym under her mother’s supervision who has been offered a free full membership.”

“Although she takes part in an individual sport, Dali is very much a team player and anyone that knows Dali will likely describe her as a lively and hard working member of the team.”

Dali has achieved success over the last few years in the three different martial arts.

She has high hopes in kickboxing and won a gold medal in her first event in Bromsgrove.

Dali has been training martial arts since she was four years old starting in Tom Beardsley's Shokokai karate. She has trained around four times a week for six years.

She belongs to shokokai karate under Tom Beardsley (7th Dan) Karate school, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Dave Coles Bjj Black Belt & 5th Dan judo black belt at Combat Academy and Korean kickboxing under 2nd Dan Black Belt Pete Browne at the verve Hereford kickboxing Academy.
