A MOTHER and son from Leominster are celebrating after both coming top in triathlon tournaments.

Harry Cockroft, 10, won the eight-10 years category in the Castle Triathlon Series, while his mum Jo earned the veteran women's award.

Harry went into the final event at Hever Castle in Kent having won all four previous races in Lough Cutra in Ireland, Cholmonderley Castle in Cheshire, Castle Howard in Yorkshire and Chateau de Chatilly in Paris.

The events are particularly demanding for children because the swims are in open water.

More than 600 youngsters took part in the event in Kent, which is believed to be the largest children's triathlon in the world.

Harry once again proved that he was the best in business to win the title.

And there was double delight for the family with Jo securing a first, second and fourth in her age category to scoop the series win.
