JAMES Platford fell one run short of reaching a century, but it did not matter as Luctonians still comfortably beat Woolhope in GB Liners Marches League Division One.

Platford scored nearly half of Lucs' 218 runs, with Matt Bengry (31) the next highest scorer.

Ben Park (3-44) and Shaun Weaver (3-55) were the pick of Woolhope's bowlers, but the villagers struggled to reach their target and were bowled out for 148.

That was despite Park reaching a half-century.

The win means that Luctonians are just a point behind Goodrich at the top of the division.

Goodrich also had a handsome win as they saw off Garnons by six wickets.

Phil Evans (4-47) and Mark Bradford (3-36) were key to Goodrich reducing Garnons to 172-9 off 45 overs.

Andrew Brown (45), James O'Brien 935) and Sam Griffiths (30 not out) then saw Goodrich home and secure the win.

Garnons are still third in the table, but just 10 points ahead of Builth Wells, who beat Kington by five wickets.

Elsewhere, Jack Patchett smashed a fantastic 112 to help Brockhampton 3rd beat Ledbury by eight wickets, while Crickhowell overcame Canon Frome by seven wickets.

Glangwyney still lead the win in Division 2, with their latest success being a three-wicket win against Marden.

Marden were bowled out for just 48, with Michael Devoy finishing with fantastic figures of 4-12.

But despite the small target to reach, Glangwyney struggled and were at one stage 9-4.

Three more wickets fell, with Rupert Lawrence helping himself to three of them, but Glangwyney managed to get over the line.

Shirebulls are now second after Builth Wells 2nd conceded their match, with Almeley rising to third after thrashing Llandrindod Wells by 200 runs.

Their success was helped in no part to Michael Batson's brilliant knock of 163 and Andy Duggan's six wickets.

Faheem Rana did even better for Presteigne by bagging seven wickets, but amazingly it was not enough as Weobley won by 10 runs, despite only scoring 90 runs.

Meanwhile, Colwall 3rd still lead Division Three following a winning draw against Goodrich 2nd.
