BARTESTREE manager Dave Cadwallader says his team will be going all out to beat Lads Club this weekend despite being firm underdogs.

Lads Club are unbeaten in 11 games – winning 10 of them – and closing in on leaders AFC Ludlow at the top of West Midlands (Regional) League Division One.

But Bartestree have picked up since Cadwallader returned to the club last month and have won three of their last five games.

The villagers should have picked up another maximum points last Saturday, but let slip a 2-1 lead to lose 3-2 against FC Stafford.

"It should be a very good game and our guys are looking forward to it," said Cadwallader, who was at Lads Club prior to his return to Bartestree.

"They are a good side and there are some good links between the two clubs.

"It should be interesting and I think there will be a good crowd watching it.

"Hopefully it will be a good football match rather than a 'battle'."

Cadwallader said Bartestree should have put last Saturday's game to bed at half-time after a Mark Harrison strike and a Mark Hibbard penalty put them into a 2-1 lead.

"We were superb for the first 45 minutes, but we should have been 4-1 up," he said.

"We hit a post, their keeper made a good save and we missed two sitters.

"They then came out in the second half and within the first 10 minutes, they pinged in two identical balls and scored twice."

However, despite the loss, Cadwallader believes his side can still finish the season strongly.

"It's about digging in and getting the right players," he said.

"I still think we can finish in the top five – we are good enough to do that."

A new 53-seater stand will not be ready in time for the match though.

Bartestree chairman Paul Ingram said it should be completed next week, with an official opening taking place afterwards.

Kington Town, meanwhile, travel to AFC Ludlow this Saturday, who will have former Town players Dale and Aaron Hodge in their ranks.

The Yellows are unbeaten in their last six games and lie eighth in the division.

Shaun Harris' side drew 2-2 against Bustleholme last Saturday; Brian Dyer and Tom Parry netting for Kington.

"If we avoid defeat against Ludlow, then we will be happy, but obviously we will be going there trying to win," said Harris.

"Dale and Aaron going back will add a bit of spice and it should be a good game."
