HAY St Mary's will be aiming to bounce back this weekend after losing 4-2 to Penrhyncoch in the Spar Mid-Leagues League Cup Final.

The Saints still have both the Aspidistra Radnorshire Cup and Presteigne Otway/Alfrey Sparey Cup Finals to look forward to. The Radnorshire Cup Final against Rhayader Town is being played at Presteigne tomorrow night with a 7.30pm kick off.

The Alfred Sparey Cup encounter against Newcastle meanwhile is this Sunday, again being played at Presteigne.

Hay made the worst possible start when Josh Shaw broke through to fire Penrhyn into a second minute lead.

But Rob Sneddon soon levelled with a curling 25 yard free-kick.

A free-kick at the other end from Mark Gornall restored Penrhyncoch’s advantage and Owain James headed a third before half-time.

Sneddon raised Hay's hopes with a stunning 35 yard wonder goal, but Jonathan Evans struck again to seal a league and cup double for Penrhyncoch who will play in the Huws Gray Alliance next season.

Disappointed in defeat, Hay had no complaints on the day as the better side won but Gareth Jenkins and his side can reflect on a fine season after also finishing fourth in the league.
