CANON Frome & Marden have been relegated from the GB Liners Marches League despite claiming an excellent win at Kington on the final day.

Glangrwyney's win at Ledbury meant that their 112-run success was not enough to preserve their status.

Marden were promoted to Division One last season, but merged with Canon Frome after sharing their Walsopthorne home.

Andy Rogers hit a fine 92 for Canon Frome & Marden, while Pete Atkin scored 43 in their 198-7 total off 30 overs.

Christopher Boyson and Ben Boswell were then excellent with the ball, with both snapping up four wickets to skittle out Kington for just 86.

But the result was not enough because Glangrwyney eased to a 10-wicket win over basement club Ledbury.

Michael Devoy took 5-31 and Nicholas Jones 4-25 to see Ledbury bowled out for 86.

Devoy then scored a half century to see his side home and keep themselves in the division.

Elsewhere, Luctonians finished their championship-winning season with their 14th victory thanks to a five-wicket win over Builth Wells.

Woolhope's match against Goodrich was abandoned, while no play was possible between Crickhowell and Garnons.

Presteigne only need a point in their final game against champions Brockhampton Thirds to maintain their place in Division Two.

The border side are currently bottom with 77 points, the same as Builth Wells Seconds.

But Builth have completed their fixtures.

The only Division Two game played last Saturday saw Colwall Thirds beat Knighton-on-Teme by seven wickets.

Meanwhile, Eastnor Thirds join Bosbury in being relegated from Division Three, while the two promotion places go to Eastnor Fourths and Garnons Seconds.
