I am appealing directly to superintendent Sue Thomas, head of our local police team, and to police and crime commissioner John Campion.

Hereford city streets are increasingly becoming a race track for souped-up cars and motorcycles, particularly ones that have been modified to release excessive noise and blowback exhaust decibels. This is a huge problem for Widemarsh Street, Broad Street, King Street, and Bridge Street.

These errant men, and they are all of a certain age, are in my opinion going to kill somebody before long. Why is there no police presence in the evening on these streets? In my estimation, it is only about 20 cars and motorcycles, but the antisocial behaviour is out of control and is not acceptable.

A plainclothes policeman with a camera could sit outside the cathedral and record these miscreants to then take them off the streets for ever and give us all a break.
